Talk about bees

1. Pollinate hundreds of flowers every day

Bees are the most famous species in Hymenoptera. There are nine bee species in the world, in addition to 30,000 wild bee species. They can collect pollen from up to 1,000 flowers a day. Honey-producing bees collect about 300 flower pollen every day. Bees bring pollen to other plants and promote their reproduction. 80% of all flowering plants are pollinated by insects.

2. Complex family system

Domesticated bee colonies live in a "country". Each bee has a specific task: Worker bees are responsible for cleaning the hives, raising offspring, collecting nectar, pollen and water. Because of their overworked lives, they died after 42 days. The only task for the male peak is to mate with the female queen bee, also known as the "post-peak". The characteristic of Xiongfeng is that its compound eyes are larger than worker bees and queen bees.

3. Single Queen

The size of the female queen bee is significantly larger than all the "subjects" in her kingdom. The queen bee is always high in the bee colony. From March to August, her only task is to breed offspring. The queen bee lays a maximum of 1,200 eggs per day and can survive for three to four years. The worker bees responsible for raising offspring select a few eggs from the queen as the queen bee's successor to train, and then select a best from them to inherit the throne.

4. Liquid gold

Honey contains 200 ingredients. Bee colonies need food during special periods. In spring and summer, nectar-collecting bees flew to the place where the flowers bloom, sucking nectar and nectar from branches and leaves, aphids excrement and collecting pollen. In order to obtain nutrient-rich honey, mankind raises bees artificially, and exchanges sugar water for bees' food: honey.
