Ways to lure bees
For novices, trapping, dividing and escaping the wild bee colony may be a bit difficult, but for the old beekeeper who has dealt with bees for many years, it is very easy. Today, we will introduce some techniques for trapping bees. And operation requirements, for the reference of amateur beekeepers. A brief summary is as follows:
1. The bait box must use old bee barrels or old beehives. The old bee barrels and beehives have the smell of beeswax. The bees like this taste and should choose what they like.
2. Empty the nest frame and beeswax in the beehive. See the previous article for the principle of beeswax coating. The entrance of the nest door must be coated with beeswax, so that the bees can easily find the way into the beehive, which makes it easier to attract the bees.
3. The bee colony is afraid of light, so keep the upper part of the hive sealed and shaded, and keep the inside dark.
4. During the bee separation season, the trap box should be placed in a conspicuous trap position. Avoid conspicuous places under big rocks, trees, and rocks. Choose an upwind vent, place an empty beehive to lure it, add beeswax smoke to it, and observe the direction of the bees. Observing the bee excrement on leaves and plant leaves, bee feces were found, indicating that Chinese bees often come.
5. Check the situation of the beehives frequently. Prevent the entry of ants, spiders, cockroaches, wasps and other enemies. It is even more important to prevent thieves from getting on the ground first.
6. the nest door is not easy to be too large. The proper height of the nest door is 5-7mm, which makes the colony feel safe and prevents the entry of predators such as golden ring wasps, toads and wax moths.

7. the coming colonies of drones are mostly divided colonies, and the drones are mostly escape colonies. Treat differently when passing the box.
