Spring beekeeping technology after double winter
Bees grow by collecting nectar. But not all seasons have pollen. In addition, bees are afraid of colds. If the weather is cold, the bees must be kept warm. In spring, when the temperature is low and the pollen is small, how should bees be kept?
1. Shake the bee to tighten the spleen
The cold weather in early or late spring will make bees vulnerable to low temperatures or cold waves. The egg-laying ring is usually difficult to rest due to freezing, which is very detrimental to the bee laying eggs. During the spring breeding period, every two hives are placed side by side, and each group of bees is fed sugar water (sucrose: water 1:1) or 250-300 ml of water-based honey on a windless night. After 2 hours, when the bees are excited and disperse and the temperature in the box rises, the bees will shake their spleens. When tightening the spleen, there is only one spleen left, and all the excess spleen will be lifted, which will prompt the queen bee to lay eggs quickly. Usually, the queen bee can lay eggs after tightening the spleen for 1 to 3 days.
2. Sealing and heat preservation
Place one spleen behind the firm spleen in the center of the hive. At this time, bees are sufficient to protect the comb-shaped spleen. Place a partition on one side close to the adjacent box, a partition on the other side, and then place insulating material on the outside of the circuit board. The heat insulation method outside the box is as follows: the grass at the bottom of the box, the weeds between the two beehives, use plastic sheets to prevent moisture and heat insulation. In rainy or cold nights, all honeycombs are covered with plastic sheets, but be careful to prevent The nest door. At night, depending on the temperature, the gate can be closed.
3. Assisted feeding
After tightening the spleen, supplement feeding from the bottom of the box every night. Put sugar water or honey water into the bottom feeder. The first feeding can be increased, usually 350-400 ml per group, and then depends on the number of bees and the size of the egg-laying circle. It is best to put a small amount of honey on the spleen. Feeding should be done frequently, once every night, without interruption, and the amount of feeding should not be excessive.
Fourth, supplement the spleen
Before spring, natural pollen is very low. When most queen bees begin to lay eggs, in order to ensure the supply of pollen in the colony and expand the egg-laying cycle, artificial pollen spleen should be added (if natural pollen spleen is better). Each spleen should have an empty nest on one side and a pollen chamber on the other side. The method of adding the spleen depends on the relationship between the bee and the spleen. When there are many bees, the pink side faces inward. The nest of a medium number of bees faces inward. When the queen bee lays eggs in the empty nest of the artificial pollen spleen, and half of the artificial pollen of the first pink spleen is eaten, add the second and third is the first pink spleen. It develops rapidly, and a strong team can be formed and put into production in time.
