Little knowledge about bees you don't know
From the perspective of bee farming, we usually need to keep the bees warm when they overwinter, generally according to the climate of the area where the bees are. It is the outdoor overwintering, but heat preservation measures are taken, and at the same time, sufficient food for overwintering must be provided to the bees. All these fully illustrate that bees are afraid of cold.
If the above reasons are not sufficient, there is another reason that is the most sufficient, and that is the state of bees in winter. The bees do not hibernate in winter, but they protect against the cold by huddling together, and at the same time adjust the temperature and bees. The main method of temperature is to increase the metabolism by smoking a lot of honey to generate temperature. Therefore, even if the temperature is low, the temperature in the bee colony can be maintained between 14 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius without larvae.
From the point of view of the influence of temperature on bees, for example, Italian bees generally start to stiffen when the temperature reaches 14 degrees Celsius, and their flight will be affected. However, when the temperature reaches seven or eight degrees Celsius, their legs are also stiff, so bees are not only Afraid of cold, and in the case of improper heat preservation, bees can hardly survive the winter.
Summary: In fact, as for the question of whether bees are afraid of cold, we can look at it this way. Bees are animals and also have to undergo metabolism. In winter, bees do not eat and stay inactive like many hibernating animals. It’s spent warming up in groups. Just like us, we need heating in winter, mainly because we are afraid of the cold.
