To extract honey from the comb.
Extract the honey as soon as possible afteryou have removed it from the hive.
if you need to store the combs before
extraction, store them in a cool place wherebees and ants cannot reach them. Notethat in areas where the small hive beetle ispresent, frames of honey removed from thehive should be extracted within 48 hours ofremoval to prevent damage.
Honey provides a source of transmission formost bee diseases.The Apiaries Act 1985prohibits frames of honey or extracted frameswith honey present, or the equipment used toextract honey, being exposed to robbing bees.There is a variety of honey extractors: yourchoice depends on how much you want toinvest, how many hives you want to manageand how much time you have.
