May 20th, sponsored by Henan Provincial Animal Husbandry General Station, Henan Apiculture Chamber of Commerce, Henan Agricultural Society, Xuchang Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Changge Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Changge Animal Husbandry Service Center, Xuchang Duotian Honey Bee Co., Ltd. The Henan "5.20 World Bee Day" theme event undertaken by the company was held in Houhe Town, Changge City.
Li Jianke, Director of Bee Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Chief Scientist of Bee Industry; Chen Hongke, Investigator of the Animal Husbandry Department of Henan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Sui Fugen, Head of Henan Animal Husbandry Station; Li Genlin, Secretary-General of Henan Agricultural Society; Deputy Head of Henan Animal Husbandry Station , Ji Jinqing, Secretary-General of the Provincial Bee Industry Chamber of Commerce, Zhang Zhongyin, Director of the Bee Research Institute of Henan University of Science and Technology, Xin Hongwei, Deputy Director of Xuchang Agriculture and Rural Bureau, and more than 200 leaders, experts, scholars, beekeepers, and bee product enthusiasts participated in this event activity.
Bees are friends of mankind and the most important pollinator in nature. They play a very important role in agricultural production and ecological protection. According to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 91 of the 107 crops planted by humans depend on insect pollination such as bees, accounting for 85% of the total. About 80% of angiosperms in the world are pollinated, and the main pollinator is bees. However, due to the abuse of pesticides and people's lack of awareness of bee protection, the living environment of bees is greatly threatened.
Proposed by Xuchang Duotianmi Seed Bee Co., Ltd., Zhifang Village, Shankong Village, and Xifanlou Village jointly established the Changge City Miba Breeding Professional Cooperative, adopting the cooperation method of company + farmer, and formed members with bee breeding and nectar crops. Innovative rich peasant business model of planting, cooperative acquisition + planting subsidy. At the site of this event, Duotianmi Bee Seed Company signed a subsidy agreement for planting nectar crops with representatives of the three villages, and donated beehives, seed bee and other breeding production materials to members of the Miba Breeding Cooperative.
