What is bee chronic paralysis?
Chronic bee paralysis is also called paralysis and black bee disease. It is the main infectious disease that harms adult bees. Among the adult bees that die in large numbers in spring and autumn in my country, a large part is caused by chronic bee paralysis.
1. The pathogen is chronic bee paralysis virus; the virus parasitizes the head of adult bees, followed by the cytoplasm of the thoracic and abdominal ganglia, and also contains the virus in the intestine, palate and pharyngeal glands.
2. There are two types of symptoms of sick bees.
One is the "big belly type", that is, the sick bee's abdomen is enlarged, the honey sac is filled with liquid, contains a large number of virus particles, the body and wings are trembling, unable to fly, crawling slowly on the ground or concentrated on the honeycomb frame beam, the honeycomb On the edge and bottom of the hive, sick bees are unresponsive and move slowly.
The other is the "black bee type", that is, the diseased bees are small and thin, and the head and the end of the abdomen are shiny. Because the diseased bees are often expelled and bitten by the healthy bees, the hair on the body almost falls off, and the wings often have nicks. His wings trembled, he lost his ability to fly, and soon died of exhaustion. Sometimes two symptoms appear in a colony of bees, but one symptom is often the main one. Generally speaking, the "big belly type" is the main type in spring, and the "black bee type" is the main type in autumn.

①Symptom diagnosis
If it is found that there are sick bees with enlarged abdomen or thin body, dim head and abdomen body color, and trembling body in front of the hive and in the bee colony, it can be initially diagnosed as chronic paralysis.
② Sample inspection
Chronic bee paralysis is easily confused with other adult bee disease symptoms, and it is not easy to diagnose. To make a correct diagnosis, a sample can be sent to a bee disease diagnosis center to be confirmed by serological tests.

① Transmission route
Experiments have found that the honey sacs of paralytic bees contain virus particles. If the virus contained in the entire honey sac is distributed to companions according to the eating habits of healthy bees, it is enough to infect several bees. In addition, pollen from sick bee colonies also contained high amounts of chronic paralysis virus. Therefore, it can be seen that the transmission of paralysis within the bee colony is mainly through the exchange of bee feed; while the transmission among bee colonies is mainly through the robber bee and the hive bee.
②Geographic distribution and hazards
From the point of view of the degree of disease, a region or even a bee farm has a large difference in the incidence of the disease. In severe cases, there are hundreds to thousands of dead bees per group every day, a large number of bees die, and the bee colony is severely reduced. Some cause the death of the whole colony of bees, leading to the bankruptcy of the bee farm. In mildly ill disease groups, sometimes only a few diseased bees appear. After the bee colony changes places and encounters better nectar source conditions, it can often get temporary self-healing, but when encountering suitable disease conditions, the disease will still recur. Therefore, the disease not only directly affects the output of honey and royal jelly, reduces income, but also seriously hinders the development of bee colonies.
