In recent years, the breeding of bees has become more and more popular, but some beekeepers reported that the abdomen of the bees is swollen and black, crawling and unable to fly. This is actually bee paralysis. Bee paralysis, also known as black bee disease, is an adult bee infectious disease caused by chronic paralysis virus or acute paralysis virus. It usually occurs in spring and autumn. In the season of paralysis epidemic, if there is an individual bee colony in the bee farm, it will quickly spread to the whole bee after one stealing bee, and the disease will be widespread. So what are the characteristics and symptoms of bee paralysis? How to prevent it?

1.The characteristics and symptoms
Bee paralysis is caused by a virus, not any other cause, and exhibits two symptoms:
First, the abdomen flutters and the wings are misaligned. Another symptom is that the body of the sick bee does not swell, but the villi all over the body are shed, the body is shiny and black, and the abdomen of the sick bee sometimes shrinks. After the sick bees fly out of the box, the guard bees do not allow them to fly back into the hive, making them look like robber bees. After a few days, they start shaking, can't fly, and soon die.
Although it is normal for the queen bee to lay eggs and vomit the spleen, the colony develops slowly. After testing, it was found that some worker bees bit and dragged the sick bees.
Therefore, when testing colonies, gloves should be worn to isolate germs from healthy colonies.

2. Prevention and control methods
(1).Replacing the queen, introducing species from different places, using the disease-free colony to breed the queen bee to replace the diseased colony queen, and avoiding the long-term inbreeding of the bee colony are effective methods to prevent and treat bee paralysis.
(2).Supplement protein feed to improve the disease resistance of bee colonies. Milk powder, soybean meal, bee pollen, etc. can be fed with a variety of vitamins mixed with honey.
(3). Prevent bees from sucking contaminated feed. The bees should be fed non-polluting high-quality feed. If the nectar plant has been contaminated, it is necessary to quickly leave the source of contamination. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the insulation of the beehive to prevent the bee colony from getting damp.
(4). Replace with clean new beehives. The beehives should be sterilized frequently, once every 6 days or so. The method is to use about 10 grams of sublimated sulfur powder and evenly sprinkle it on the frame beams, the door of the nest and the door of the box.
(5). Deal with sick bees in time. The activities of bees should be checked frequently. If some bees are found to have symptoms of paralysis, they should be eliminated immediately to prevent the paralysis from being transmitted to healthy bees. In short, as long as the bee paralysis is detected in time and the prevention and control is effective, it is possible to control the damage and reduce the loss.
(6). Spray the spleen with medicine. For drug treatment, use phthalamide powder (4%) for feeding, add 12 grams of this product per liter of 50% sugar water, 250 ml per group, every other time, and use it 5 times in a row, and stop using it during the honey collection period. 200,000 units of novobiocin or chlortetracycline can be added to 1 kg of syrup, shaken and sprayed on the honeycomb, once every 2 days, and continuously sprayed 2 to 3 times.
